The Gatton Creek trail at Lake Quinault is one of the less frequented segments of the Quinault Recreation Area.
The hike from the Giant Spruce to the Falls is a three spoon hike, 0.8 mile one way with a total of 180 feet elevation gain, 30 stairs, and a couple of steep sections.
For a shorter one spoon non-wheelchair accessible hike with only 20 feet of elevation change you can drive 0.4 mile down the gravel Wrights Canyon Road and walk to the falls.
There is a picturesque bridge over the canyon, and lovely views of the surrounding mountains. The trail is dog-friendly.
