I wouldn't have been able to get vaccinated without community help.

The Rogue River Gorge viewpoint provides an accessible experience of the power of the Wild and Scenic Rogue River, where it has created a gorge through the rocks. There is evidence of collapsed lava tubes, a reminder of the volcanic action of Crater Lake.

As more information about long term Covid (or Covid "long-hauler") becomes available, more people are expressing their fear and concern. Yes, the symptoms of long Covid are terrible. But do you know who else has many of these symptoms? People with many chronic illnesses and disabilities. So when you say "I would never want to live with these symptoms" remember that many of us already are, and have been for a long time, and we do want to live.

I had planned a 7 mile hike, which is pushing the limits of what I can do on the very best day, and this was not my very best day. In addition to my usual pain, fatigue, and unstable joints, I was having an increase in dysautonomia symptoms and a weird new kinesthesia symptom (no, body we are not actually moving when standing on an incline!).

This beautiful universally accessible boardwalk at Eight Dollar Mountain in Southern Oregon travels about 1/8 mile through one of the rarest ecosystems: a wet serpentine habitat. This is a wetland ecosystem in a typically very dry and mineral rich environment that supports many uniquely adapted plant species. This fen, as they're called, is home to a huge number of Darlingtonia, a carnivorous pitcher plants.

People often ask me "what do people say or do that makes you feel unwelcome in the outdoors? What kinds of comments do you get when you're outside?" which are uncomfortable questions to begin with - why are people so comfortable with asking others to relay their most painful moments?
